Aha! Now the truth comes out!
When we moved into this cockroach infested hole, we noticed that the bathroom floor had caved in at one point. We asked, and Leroy told us that a big huge fat woman used to live in this apartment, and she fell through the floor. The story go even larger, with him telling me later on that she had sued Mr Ramirez, and that they had to pay all of her medical bills and give her 3k to cover lost wages, etc...
And today the real story...almost two months after the fact...Leroy and his girlfriend, hence known as the lovely Bertha, fell through the floor in the apartment next door when they lived in that apartment last year. I should say, rather, that it was Bertha by herself who was the offending party. I wonder if she realized at the time that she managed to collapse the main beam that supported the entire building right underneath the bathrooms at the time? Gotta wonder, because the floor in the apt next door is in MUCH better shape than ours is, and Leroy claims to have fixed the floor. Hmmmmm...
